Consumer Research

Welcome to our media music video blog, here we will be posting research and planning we have completed in the build-up to shooting our music video.

To being we have questioned a sample of 16-18 year old students on how they consume music and music videos.

We asked participants: Which of the following have to done in the last month?
  • Watched a music video on TV?
  • Watched a music video on a computer?
  • Watched a music video on a mobile phone?
  • Downloaded a song without payment?
  • Paid to download a music single?
  • Paid to download an album?
  • Downloaded or used any music apps?
Here are the results:

We were shocked to see that 81% of those asked downloaded a song without payment, this shows how easy it is to steal music. We were also surprised that more would watch music videos on the TV than they would on the computer. This research has been useful to me in expanding my knowledge in music consumption.
